Our original composition this time is a story told by Dr. McIvor to the rest of us in Loglan, a memoir of an experience he had while traveling in Greece in 1964.
Note: When this piece was published in Lognet, the word 'mia' meant "we/us/ourselves" in the "I/me and others independently" sense. The word 'mia' is now used as a subjunctive marker, so we've changed 'mia' to 'mio' throughout.

Na lepo mi turka vi la Inglend, guo, ja na la Nevesofon, mi pa speni ne rezkeo duo lepo tcatraci la Helas, la Inglend, la Iugosla'vias, guo, ice mi pa nu kinci ne kandi fremi.
During the-interval-of my working in England, which was in 1964, I spent exactly-one (a) free-interval (holiday) in-the-manner-of the-event-of car-traveling (driving) to Greece from England via Yugoslavia, and I was accompanied by exactly one (a) Canadian friend.
Kandi = a Canadian person.
Ibuo lemi fremi pa rulkao lepo fangoi la Inglend, pa mi.
However, my friend rule-acted-to (had to/was obliged to) do the-event-of returning to England before me.
Ifa, mi pa canjmi ne gleci stude vi la Korinqas, ice sei haptoi lepo kingoi mi la Inglend.
And-later, I chance-met (encountered) an English student in Corinth, and s (the student) happily-agreed to the-event-of accompanying me to England.
Ibuo, nefi mio ji mi ze sei pa speni sane likta vi la Peloponesos.
However, firstly we, being I and-jointly s (the student), spent about a week (experienced an interval of about a week) in the Peloponnesus.
I, na ne denli, mio pana godzi la Mistras
And, during one day, we were going to Mistra.
Nao, na lepo mio tcagoi Mai, mio pa canjmi to pudjytraci ja fremi lemi kinci ji sei, ice mio ji mio ze pei pa kintraci Mai.
Now, during the-event-of our car-going (drive) to M (Mistra), we (s and I) encountered exactly-two thumb-travelers (hitchhikers), who happened to be friends of my companion s, and we, being the original we and-jointly p (the two hitchhikers), together-traveled to M.
Pudjytraci = "thumb-traveler" = hitchhiker.
Nao, la Mistras ga bizhantinu spisitci.
Now, Mistra is a Byzantine spirit-city (ghost-town).
Spisitci = spicu sitci = "spirit-city" = ghost-town.
I Mai pa nu cabmao, efa siflivclecea gu, na la Nesesenin.
And M (Mistra) was made-to-burn, and-then residents-without-became (became deserted), (and both happened) in 1770.
Siflivclecea = sitfa clivi clesi cenja = "place-livers (residents)-without-become" = become deserted.
Ibuo le ro tepli napa cnumao, ice tei famva lo cetcaltcu.
However, the many temples (churches) have been restored, and t (the temples) are famous for wet-wall-pictures (frescoes)
Cetcaltcu = cetlo tcali tcure = "wet-wall-picture" = fresco.
I le lidfuamunce ga kerju le tepli.
The religious-female(nun)-community (convent) takes care of the temples.
Lidfuamunce = lidji fumna munce = "religious-woman(nun)-community = convent/nunnery.
Nao le cetcaltcu ji gudbi ro notbi ga nu sitfa le lidfumhaa, ice raba jie mio pa danza lepo mio vizgoi cei.
Now the frescoes which are better than many others are situated in the nun-house (convent), and every x who was one of us wanted the-event-of our visiting c (the frescoes).
I mio papa ridle le glida bukcu.
And we had read the guide book(s).
I mio pa siodja lepo ra mrenu ji vizgoi cei pa rulkao lepo respli lo langa pantu ce barkua.
And we understood that all men who visited c (the frescoes) rule-acted-to (had to/were obliged to) clothes-use (wear) long pants-and-sleeves.
I, uu, ni mio pana respli lo langa pantu, ice ni le te stude papa berti pei la Helas.
And, alas, zero-of us were wearing long pants, and zero-of the three students had carried p (long pants) to Greece.
I, ui, mi papa srosea pei lemi tracybao.
And, happilly, I had store-put (stored) p (long pants) in my travel-box (suitcase).
Srosea = sordi setfa = "store-put" = store...in... .
Inurau mi pa fanresduo lemi corta pantu, ice mi resduo lemi langa.
And-therefore (justificational) I removed my short pants and I put on my longs (long ones).
Ifa mi pa belcpu, ice ne lidfua pa godzi le darto, e nengoi letci mi, e dedsanduo cei, ice mi vizgoi cei.
And-then I bell-pulled (rang), and exectly-one nun came to the door and enter-let me (let me in), and pointed out c (the frescoes), and I visited c .
Itaa, raba jie sei pa fanresduo leba pantu, ice ba resduo lei, ice ba belcpu, ice ba vizgoi cei.
And-in-turn, every x such that x is an s removed x's pants, and x put-on l (my "longs"), and x rang, and x visited c (the frescoes).
Inusoa le lidfua pa nurgeo fo mrenu, e ne pantu.
Therefore (entailment) the nuns were-hosts-to four men and one pair of pants.

Now, we continued on to Kalamata from Mistra via one (a) road so-called (by a so-called "road"). And that is another story.
